Using a selection of benign or personal imagery as reference, I am repeatedly reproducing the image in different ways, while adhering to a selected parameters, as a way to explore new ideas while replacing the image subject with process/material subject.
We Can Survive This:
A series of work relating to my decision to move from working exclusively nonobjective abstraction to a multi-style incorporating any idea or medium. Here I use the death of Jackson Pollock as a metaphor for this transference. This work is still in progress. The finished scene will include a painting of the crash (shown), a stuffed soft sculpture in Canvas of the 1948 Oldsmobile painted in oil, and a sound installation.
